MEN’S SOLO TOURNAMENT

Background

MALE CHAMPIONSHIP

This competition brings together the best male beatboxers from around the world to compete against each other. In order to participate in this tournament, each solo beatboxer must have qualified by winning a national championship between 01. September 2018 and 30, June 2023 or have previously won the iconic world title. So that only true champions will compete against each other at the next world cup, ensuring that the competition remains fair and unbiased. The contest will begin with a preliminary elimination round, in which each competitor will have to demonstrate their vocal percussion skills in a 120 second elimination round in front of the jury committee to qualify for the battle rounds.

Men Solo - Beatbox Battle World Championship

COMPETITION MODE

The order of occurrences of all competitors for the first round of the tournament will be drawn in advance by a raffle. All participants must show a 120 seconds elimination round on stage then. The jury committee will evaluate all performances according to the official competition criteria: precision, pattern, musicality, originality, performance. Each competitor will be awarded a rating of 1-10 points per judging criterion. The 32 participants with the highest placement will compete against each other in the face-to-face battle rounds, each with 2 x 90 seconds in the question and answer principle. A referee oversees the stage scenario and measures the 90 second rounds of the competition using the Beatbox Battle® hourglass timer. They accompany the respective battle rounds in fair play mode and ensure that all technical requirements are optimally synchronized. In the event of a tie, the jury committee may be asked by the affected competition pair to request an extra round. In this scenario, both competitors will be obligated to participate in an additional tie battle round consisting of 90 seconds each.

QUALIFYING STATUS

If one or more world champions from the past years 2005, 2009, 2012, 2015 or 2018 register for this tournament, they enter the top 32 round directly with their world champion status without participating in the elimination round. Accordingly, fewer competitors from the elimination round will then qualify for the top 32 battles. After each competition pairing of the top 32 rounds, the jury will decide which participants have won the face-to-face battle and qualified for the best 16 rounds. The competition continues in the same scheme with the quarterfinals, followed by the semi-finals and ultimately leading up to the title match, where the winner will be crowned as the men’s beatbox battle world champion 2023.
